Husband and wife team, T.J. O’Doan and Billea Dyson, opened Central Coast Yoga & Pilates in May 2016, with the intention of creating a space for positive transformation.
With a shared love for yoga and a history of athletics – Billea ran competitively and participated in cross-country skiing, while T.J. played football – the couple was eager to design a space that enhanced individuals’ overall wellness. When the local hot yoga studio came up for sale, they jumped at the opportunity.
Through CCYP, their community-centered vision came to fruition. Within the studio’s walls they strive to maintain excellence in service, offer creative programs and events, and uphold a positive and welcoming space for practice. This allows students to nurture individual fitness goals and seek spiritual and mental maintenance.
Billea and T.J.’s shared values of love, kindness, hard work, inclusion and respect permeate the walls of the studio. They also trickle into the couple’s home life, which is abundant with three children – Desiree, Sasha and Fredrik – as well as individual occupations. T.J., a former Marine, owns Pacific Coast Transportation; Billea, a former nurse, is passionate about her essential oil business with doTERRA.
As a family, they love to travel. They spend two to three months a year in Canada, Billea’s home turf, where they ground, connect and roam. With an affinity for hot springs, motorcycles, boating, concerts, and their motorhome, life is one beautiful adventure. A theme they share with their kiddos is if you can dream it, you can do it (i.e. dream up a sacred space for your local community… and then open it up!).
Since opening CCYP, they’ve seen a splendid evolution within their students. Witnessing their tribe grow stronger, together, continues to be the most rewarding part of all. They are grateful for the opportunity to provide a welcoming and nourishing space for the Central Coast.
